Camping

Located along the scenic James River, Limestone Park offers easy river access for fishing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking.  Most sites have 30/50 amp electric service,  water hook-up, a picnic table and a fire pit.  A dump station is located on the property. Showers and bathrooms are open March 1-December 1.   Pool is open Memorial Day thru Labor Day.  For an additional fee, campers may use the pool in season. Tennis and pickleball courts are available for campers' use, a playground, as well as a large firepit.   A concession stand with hot food and snacks is available during pool hours as well.    

There are four sites available in the upper parking lot for those just stopping for the night.  Those sites are #21-#24 are available for a first come first served basis.  Information onsite for payment, etc.  in a box near those sites or in a box near the building.  Site #E (appropriate for small trailers, class B and tents) is also available on first come first served basis located near the basketball court.

For stays longer than two weeks, call the park office.  A reminder that none of our sites have sewage hook-up so long term stays may not necessarily be convenient for the camper ; however, we will work with those who are working in the area on a temporary basis or have other extenuating circumstances.

Mt. Joy RV is located just a couple of minutes away if you need service or hardware.

While within the town limits of Buchanan, Virginia, the park gives a view of the river, Purgatory Mountain, and grassy fields.  We are conveniently located off of I-81 between exits 162 and 168.  Restaurants, convenience stores, a hardware/RV store, gas stations, a canoe/kayak/tubing rental business and a movie theater located just minutes away.
